JOINS ANOTHER WINNING TEAM

October 6, 2009 − Media, PA − NHL Hall of Fame, and Philadelphia Flyers Great Bernie Parent has helped form PowerPlay Financial, LLC. Headquartered in suburban Philadelphia, Bernie as Sr. Vice President says their mission is to have all the business owners they come in contact with insure that their financial matters are in order. This includes Personal, Estate and Business Succession Planning in addition to company employer and employee benefits. “We do this by meeting with them and having our team ask the tough questions. In the end we present “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” for them to evaluate. When they’re presented with this; they’ll figure it out. They’re smart people and they’ll make the right decisions when they know what’s wrong. It’s our job to point those things out to them.”

“You know when I played, I hated to lose. And I see what’s happening to some of these business owners who are losing and they don’t even know that they’re losing. We want to change that. We want to help secure the Win for them and we’ll do that through my new team which includes Matt and Bob (Matthew Lempa, Jr., CLU, ChFC, and Robert Boswell), who have a combined 37 years of experience. This combination of team passion and knowledge will help secure successful legacies for these owners.”

Bernie continues, “I’ve found that many of my friends who are very successful business people have been so focused on building their businesses over the years that they’ve failed to properly prepare for the day when it’s time for them to hang up the skates or transfer to the back-up goalie. I go back a lot of years with some of them and I really care about them and their families.”

“We’re so pleased that we’ve established this team. Although born in Canada, he has to be Philadelphia’s Number 1 Son and Ambassador. He understands the region, the people and since his career was unexpectedly and unfortunately cut short, he knows first-hand the importance of proper planning. He brings a great amount of energy, excitement and enthusiasm to this team as he did when he was winning Stanley Cups with The Flyers”, said Matt and Bob.

Parent’s career notables include 13 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, and Toronto Maple Leafs. During the 1973–74 and 1974–75 seasons, in what many consider the finest consecutive seasons ever by a goaltender, Parent backstopped the Flyers to two Stanley Cups and won the Vezina Trophy and Conn Smythe Trophy both seasons. A 1984 inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame, Parent was rated number 63 on The Hockey News’ list of The Top 100 NHL Players of All-Time in 1998.

Both Matt and Bob agree: “What an incredible opportunity it is to be able to help people and work with someone who has such unique credentials. Bernie cares and he wants to insure that all have taken the necessary steps it requires for them to protect their families, themselves, and their businesses. He knows first-hand how a simple incident can change a career, a life or a dream. Working closely with him we realize the dedication it took for him to perform at such a high level and the dedication it takes to be successful now whether it’s in professional sports or in any walk of life. Finally, it’s such an extreme pleasure for us to share his passion and to call him friend as so many in the Philadelphia area do.”
