WOW ! what a year for the Flyers
By Bernie | May 20, 2008
The Flyers’ turnaround from the NHL’s worst team last season to one of the four left standing this season was nothing short of incredible and makes me feel proud to be part of the Flyers organization.
Most of the credit goes to my good friend general manager Paul Holmgren, who perfectly executed his off-season game plan by adding forwards Scott Hartnell, Joffrey Lupul and Daniel Briere and defenseman Kimmo Timonen to a promising core of young players that includes forwards Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, R.J. Umberger, Scottie Upshall and defenseman Braydon Coburn.
We have a lot of good hockey coming our way in Philadelphia over the next few years. This young team showed a lot of heart and talent.
I will continue to blog as I watch the Stanly Cup Finals but now is the off season even for us retired players. I will keep everyone posted on what I am doing for the summer from fishing reports to personal appearances.

Philadelphia is the greatest sports town in the world! Here is something I want to do. We are looking for any pictures of me during the hay day. Pictures of the big parade, championship games or any pictures with me and you!! Pictures you may have of us that we can share on this website. If you have any please forward them to me at the following email address, pictures@bernieparent.net , and we’ll try to post and comment on the ones we get. We would really like to find some older shots from back in my playing days but any pictures of me with you will be looked at and considered.
Thanks,

Flyers vs Penguins Game 3
By Bernie | May 14, 2008
Last nights game against the Penguins was a very difficulty one. Pittsburg keeps frustrating the boys between the blue line making it difficult to get a consistant flow and opportunities to score.
Even thought the Flyers are missing the top 2 defense players I feel the boys are playing well against a talented Pittsburg team.
Biron has made a lot of key saves to keep the team in reach in every game.
Although we are down 3 to 0, the Flyers organization has the well known reputation for never giving up attitude. Thursday night the the team really needs the support of the fans to solidify a victory.
FYI, I will be at the Modells sporting goods store today May 14, 2008 signing autographs from 5:30pm to 7:00 pm located at 2329 Cottman Ave, Philadelphia, PA. Hope to see you there.
Tune in tommarow @7:45 am as I will be talking about Game 4 with Mike Smerconish “the Big Talker ” on CBS radio 1210 am.
