Final Game at the Spectrum !

The Philadelphia Flyers will play one last final game in our former home, the Spectrum, when they meet the Philadelphia Phantoms, on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m.

The game will be preceded by a special on-ice ceremony featuring a memorable hoisting of the Stanley Cup banner by 21 members of the Flyers Stanley Cup winning teams (1973-74 and 1974-75). Man thats going to be fun!

My teamates of the Stanley Cup teams who are scheduled to appear in the special pre-game ceremony are Bill Barber, Tom Bladon, Gary Dornhoefer, Andre Dupont, Rick MacLeish, Simon Nolet, Don Saleski, Dave Schultz, Ed Van Impe, Jimmy Watson, Joe Watson, Ted Harris, Bob Kelly, Bob Clarke, Bill Clement, Terry Crisp, Orest Kindrachuk, Bob Taylor, Reggie Leach, and Larry Goodenough and of course me!

Hockey is right around the corner!

Wow what a great summer down the Jersey Shore! But its mid September and I am looking for the frist chill in the air and the drop of the puck. September 27, 2008 the Flyers will be playing the Carolina Hurricanes in the Spectrum MAN I loved playing there. What great times we had there as a Team and as a City.

Ninth Annual Gene Hart Memorial Golf

Last monday I played in the Gene Hart Memorial Golf outing. What a great time it was seeing old friends. The Hart famliy does a outstanding job along with Temple University. Proceeds from the outing benefit the new HDR Brachytherapy Suite within the Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital.

Gene was such a big part of the Flyers Family. I had many laughs with him and miss him dearly.

Another old friend that I had the pleasure of seeing that day was Marcel Pelletier. We go way back and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.

Last week my good friend Mike Smerconish took a ride on the boat after his show in Wildwood. Man it was a nice ride around the Cape May Point. Dolphins where jumping all around the Boat. TC, Greg and Tom came along for the ride. We went out for about an hour and I have to say Mike took to the open sea well. I believe deep down inside he is a salty dog. Smerconish on the French Connection !

Next week my good friend Mike Smerconish will be travleing the Jersey Shore with his radio show. But on July 16, 2008 we are going out on the French Connection, my personal 45 foot sport fishing boat! Michael and I have been talking about this all year we are going to have a great day out on the water smoking cigars. A real mans day! Tune into the Show that morning I am sure we will have alot of fun.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia !

On Friday I got to spend some time with one of my favorite actors, Danny Devito. I was invited to do a spot on the TV show, It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia, which will air in a few months. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed hanging out with Danny. What a great guy! He is truly a down to earth individual!

Well the heat wave is here and it looks like its going to be summer to remember. I will be posting my fishing reports on my blog along with other new ventures I am getting involved in. So stay tuned and keep checking back.

The league was blessed with great playoff games this year. The finales where just incredible pure hockey at it bests the best two teams made it to the finals. Congratulations to Detroit for winning the Stanly Cup.

Game 6

Big game tonight for both team. The Red Wings where only 33 seconds away for winning the cup the other the night so I think they will be coming out strong tonight after getting that taste in thier mouths. But I think Pittsburgh showed that they are a strong team and will not give up. I feel the next two games the goaltenders are going to play a huge roll in the outcome of the game.

We are in for some good hockey tonight

Wow! Game three Pittsburg came out hitting. Crosby showed how talented he really is! These are two quality teams but game four Sat night will be very interesting. I am looking forward to a tough game being played by both teams.
