Even though the Penguins only went 5 games with the Flyers it was a physical series which took a lot out of them physically. With that being said Detroit has speed and skill on offense, defense. As we know goal tending is very important in the playoffs. Detroit started the playoff with Hasek who had a few bad games and was replaces by Osgood who got hot at the right time. Although he is not getting that many shots on goal he is making the key saves.
I look for the Penguins to come out with a strong performance their first game at home, they’ll be in the friendly confines of Mellon Arena, where they’re a perfect 8-0 in this year’s Playoffs. A win at home will reenergize a young talented team which has one of the best leaders in the league in Crosby. This is exciting I am looking forward to Wednesday night’s game.
PS : If you have any thoughts on how the Penguins could stop Detroit I would love to hear them. Talk to you soon

The Penguins need to somehow get through the middle of the ice and do a lot more forechecking. They can’t go for the pretty goals…just keep shooting at the net and crowd the goalie. Ain’t nothing better than the scrums in front of the net and getting a goal off hard work! If that doesn’t work, dangle some potato chips out on the ice…I hear Detroit is the potato chip capital of the world.
I’m thinking Detroit will sweep.
to late for my comment the penguins won it. no sweep
I totally agree with cjkjvel: “just keep shooting at the net and crowd the goalie.” It’s as simple as that. Keep smacking the puck and one’s bound to go in. It’s a no-brainer. Detroit is a phenomenal team and the Big Pens have a lot to do to beat them, and I really hope they do. Love you, Bern!
